Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN | Geriatric Psychiatric Unit Location: Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS Departments: Senior Care – Geri-Psych Unit | IOP | PHP Schedule: PRN (As Needed) | Flexible Hours Reports To: RN Supervisor Remote Work: No About the Role Join SGH's dedicated Senior Care team and make a difference in the lives of older adults with behavioral health needs. As a PRN RN, you'll provide high-quality, compassionate care while supporting patients and families through individualized treatment plans. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs Respond to emergencies and initiate resuscitative measures per protocols Maintain confidentiality and adhere to infection-control standards Supervise and direct LPNs, Nurse Aides, and support staff Monitor crash carts, equipment, and supply inventory Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment Participate in continuing education to maintain nursing competency Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Licensure: Current RN license in Mississippi (Required) Certifications: CPR/BLS (Required); ACLS Preferred Experience: Previous experience in geriatric or psychiatric care preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Why SGH?
