Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) seeking a rewarding leadership role? Our exceptional nursing home in Penzance is looking for a compassionate and clinical skilled RGN or RMN to join our team on full-time night shifts. This is a pivotal role where you will take shift charge and ensure the highest standard of elderly care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take shift charge during night shifts, providing leadership and clinical supervision to the care team.
  • Deliver outstanding, person-centred healthcare and nursing care to our residents.
  • Conduct thorough medication rounds, ensuring the safe administration and management of medicines.
  • Work without supervision, using your initiative and expertise as an RGN or RMN to manage complex resident needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive individualised care plans.
  • Supervise and support Healthcare Assistants, promoting best practices in elderly care.
  • Work in partnership with the Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead to maintain and improve clinical standards.
  • Maintain impeccable clinical records in line with NMC code and regulations.

    Essential Requirements:

  • Valid NMC Pin as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN).

  • A minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience as a Staff Nurse (RGN or RMN) within a nursing home or care home setting.
  • Proven experience in elderly care and managing medication rounds.
  • Demonstrable experience taking shift charge and working autonomously without supervision.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to lead a team.
  • A genuine passion for providing high-quality healthcare in a care home environment.

    Desirable Skills:

  • Experience as a Senior Staff Nurse, Clinical Lead, or Peripatetic Nurse.

  • Excellent mentorship and communication skills.
  • A proactive and professional approach.
