Description
Veterans Engineering is looking for dedicated Registered Nurses specializing in psychiatric care to join our team. In this role, you will provide compassionate and informed care to patients experiencing mental health challenges. The ideal candidates should be comfortable working in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient facilities, and be prepared to engage in therapeutic relationships with patients. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients in an inpatient psychiatric unit Conduct mental health assessments and monitor patient status Administer medications and therapeutic interventions as prescribed Support crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety protocols Document care and treatment plans in VA electronic health records Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and interdisciplinary care teams Active RN license in the state of practice Bachelor's degree Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience within the last 3 years Ability to safely administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy in an infusion clinic setting Competency in oncology nursing standards, including monitoring, managing, and responding to infusion reactions Strong patient assessment skills, including pre-treatment screening and post-infusion monitoring Ability to follow physician orders, oncology protocols, and VA clinical guidelines Proficient in medication administration, IV therapy, venous access devices, and infusion pumps Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, including adverse drug reactions and anaphylaxis Accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic health record systems Strong communication skills to educate patients and coordinate care with providers and clinical staff Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration within an interdisciplinary team Adherence to infection control, patient safety, HIPAA, and VA compliance standards Travel Requirement Travel to client locations is required for this position and may vary based on project needs.
