Description
As a Registered Nurse for Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you'll provide general and psychiatric nursing care to adults with emotional or psychiatric disorders. You will provide interventions that: promote and foster health; assess dysfunction; assist patients to regain or improve their coping abilities; maximize patient strengths and prevent further disability. These interventions focus on the psychiatric-mental health patient and include health promotion and health maintenance; monitoring patients and assisting them with self-care activities; monitoring psycho-biological treatment regimens; providing triage decisions and facilitating patient movement into appropriate services. *Pay Range: $50/hr. to $67/hr. *Available Shifts: Full Time: PM Shift (3:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M.) and NOC Shift (11:00 P.M. to 7:30 A.M.) Part Time: AM Shift (7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.) and PM Shift (3:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M.) Responsibilities: Collects and analyzes data regarding the patient’s physical, psychological, self-care, educational, and anticipated discharge planning needs Develops a comprehensive outline of care to be delivered to attain expected outcomes; includes in this plan, specific goals and interventions delineating nursing actions unique to each patient Maintains effective communication with all units and departments Supervises direct patient care as required Carries out medication management responsibilities Conducts patient community meetings Provides input into the discharge planning process Maintain patient, and unit related documentation Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment for patients Skills: Demonstrates sound leadership skills and critical thinking Basic knowledge of abnormal psychology as typically found in the adult psychiatric population The familiarity of Psychopharmacy and the use of psychotropic medications with the adult psychiatric population Basic teaching and training skills helpful; problem-solving; organizational and time management; crisis intervention skills Current California Registered Nurse License BLS (Basic Life Support ) Certification for Healthcare Providers - American Heart Association Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse (PMHN) HIGHLY preferred 3 to 5 years of RN Psychiatric experience HIGHLY preferred Full Time 401K Retirement Plan Health Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Pet Insurance Healthcare Spending Account & Dependent Care Spending Account Life Insurance (Supplemental Life, Term, and Universal plans are also available.)
