Job Description: * Provide direct real time nursing support for patients undergoing Radiation Therapy and Brachytherapy such as daily dressings and symptom management. * Assess and provide appropriate nursing intervention for actual or potential problems the patient may experience related to the disease process and treatment on non-oncologist specific review days. * Liaise with the primary RNs and Clinical Specialist Radiation Therapist to monitor and support patients who are here for emergency treatment specifically those transported from other hospitals. * Respond to situations within the department such as code blue calls, administration of IV contrast and medication reactions that require immediate intervention. * Assist the brachytherapy nurses in recovery of the patients after a general anesthetic.
