Description
Overview Shift: PRN; Unit operates Monday–Saturday, Night Shift 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM. Join our team in the Recovery Care Center (RCC), a 10-bed unit within our outpatient surgery program that cares for patients during the short overnight recovery period following scheduled surgical procedures. Patients recovering from surgeries such as joint replacements, spine procedures, mastectomies, thyroid surgeries, and urologic procedures typically stay one night before safely returning home. Our RCC is designed as a short-stay surgical recovery unit rather than a traditional Med-Surg floor. Because patients discharge quickly, we maintain lower nurse-to-patient ratios so nurses can focus on post-operative monitoring, pain management, early mobility, and patient education to ensure a safe transition home. This recovery-focused model allows nurses to spend more meaningful time with patients while seeing their recovery and progress in a short period, working closely with surgical, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to support a smooth recovery experience.
