Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse with experience in patient and family-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-based care for the Primary Care Service Unit 5 North Psychiatry and the Short Stay Service at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. This position is based on 5 North but can also be moved to work on short stay for operational reasons. As a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients with complex mental health and addiction issues. Working within the RN/RPN scope of practice, you will provide addiction and mental health assessments for patients to determine physical and mental health stability, treatment planning and implementation, therapeutic interventions and monitoring of both patient physical and addiction/mental health issues. Documentation and evaluation of interventions are part of this role. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared visions and values of Recovery Alberta. The RN/RPN models professional leadership and provides support by collaborating and delegating within the interprofessional team. You will demonstrate a knowledgeable and caring clinical practice that is grounded in addiction and mental health nursing from a recovery-oriented perspective; have strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate time management, independent decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; and an ability to foster positive relationships within a team environment are all expectations of this role.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
