Adult Community 108 Street Clinic provides a wide range of addiction & mental health treatment to the residents of the City of Edmonton & surrounding suburban areas. The ACS program adheres to Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care providing quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addiction & Mental Health. Services are offered to clients and their families in the least intrusive and most appropriate manner, and include assessment, individual and group counselling and consultation. Interventions may be done in the clinic, community, or in a client’s home, dependent on the identified needs. In the Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) position you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide individual supportive counselling and case management to clients with a wide variety of clinical presentations. The RN/RPN engages clients in ongoing mental status assessment, risk assessment, supportive therapy and case management including medication administration, coverage and other financial assistance for clients with complex addiction and mental health needs. The RN/RPN works collaboratively with the client’s primary care provider to transition care back to their medical home once stabilized. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of addiction and mental health assessment & diagnosis & be able to navigate within both the health system as well as with external stakeholders to ensure the coordination of services to best meet the client’s needs. This candidate will be able to multitask & effectively manage multiple priorities and demands with a large caseload. This candidate will have a good working knowledge of legislation regarding mental health care including the Alberta Mental Health Act & Community Treatment Orders.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
