Description
Description Registered Nurse & Respiratory Therapist Join the Helia Healthcare Team That Breathes Life Into Care — Literally! At Helia Healthcare, we know exceptional care comes from exceptional people… people like you. Our residents count on us not only for skilled clinical support, but also for the heart, humor, and family feel that makes Helia feel like home. If you’re an RN with respiratory experience (a.k.a. someone who knows their way around breath sounds and a good pulse ox reading), we’d love to have you join our vibrant skilled nursing and rehabilitation family. What You’ll Do Think of this role as part clinical powerhouse, part resident hero, and part expert breather-upper (yes, we made that up). Each day you’ll: Perform respiratory assessments like the pro you are, keeping a close eye on those rhythms, patterns, and everything that makes healthy breathing happen. Administer inhalation and oxygen therapy with skill, precision, and your signature Helia-level caring touch. Teach residents and families about respiratory conditions, medications, equipment, and wellness—because knowledge is power and breathing should be stress-free. Team up with our amazing interdisciplinary crew to craft individualized care plans that help residents feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Handle respiratory emergencies with calm confidence, even when things get fast-paced. (You stay cool… we appreciate that about you.) Why Helia Is the Best Place to Be You’re not just giving treatments—you’re changing lives, one breath at a time. You’ll be surrounded by a team that believes teamwork is a superpower (and we use it daily). You’ll be part of our mission: bringing residents home—whether that’s back to their community home or creating a warm and meaningful lifelong home right here with us. What You Bring A rock-solid foundation in nursing principles and resident-centered care. A commitment to learning and growing through on-the-job training—because even the best keep leveling up. Comfort with clinical equipment, respiratory interventions, and staying composed under pressure. A compassionate, kind-hearted approach that reflects Helia’s dedication to dignity, respect, and genuine care. Requirements Education & Experience Requirements A current, valid Illinois Registered Nurse license is required. Experience or education in long-term care, acute care, or geriatric nursing is preferred. Supervisory experience? Even better! Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and comfortably with residents, families, and coworkers. No disqualifying criminal offenses (per regulatory guidelines). Ability to read and interpret journals, procedures, regulations, and other professional materials. Ability to write reports, nursing notes, and procedures with clarity. Ability to confidently communicate with department heads, physicians, families, residents, and the general public. Continuing Education Because we love growth as much as we love great care: Attend in-services and educational programs. Keep up with CE needed for certification and licensure. Participate in seminars and stay up to date with evolving best practices. Complete Silver Chair in-services on time—your future self will thank you.
