JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Risk and Compliance Manager to join our healthcare team in Peridot, AZ. This role is responsible for overseeing risk management strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting patient safety initiatives within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge, a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at reducing risk and improving quality care.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (or compact state).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree or certification in risk management or healthcare compliance preferred (e.g., CPHRM, CHC).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in risk management, compliance, or quality improvement strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare regulations, patient safety principles, and clinical documentation standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse populations, including tribal communities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the facility’s risk management program, including incident reporting, investigation, tracking, and resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, tribal, and accrediting agency standards (e.g., CMS, The Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA).
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas of non-compliance or risk.
  • Analyze risk trends and develop proactive strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
  • Coordinate and conduct staff education and training on risk management, patient safety, and regulatory updates.
  • Serve as a liaison with legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and insurance carriers when needed.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership regarding risk and compliance metrics.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the organization’s overall patient safety goals.
