Primary Responsibilities: The Behavioral Health RN provides care to patients of all ages who suffer from any type of mental illness or mental distress She/he is knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, dementia, depression and substance abuse Responsible for medication management The Behavioral Health RN works with the psychiatrist, case management and families in treatment planning The RN applies clinical nursing knowledge and utilizes demonstrated skills to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited professional registered nursing program Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association Current and valid Texas RN license 3+ years Behavioral Health and Nursing experience Proven ability to triage and handle psychiatric emergencies Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population for the assigned clinical area Computer experience Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing 2+ years in ambulatory care setting Able to coordinate patient care across various sub specialties and with affiliate providers Solid knowledge of Behavioral Health diagnostic tests and medicines used in the treatment of Behavioral Health disorders Windows based computer skills and EMR experience Windows bases computer skills EPIC experience Advanced Cardiac Life Support and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support Solid interpersonal skills to develop a therapeutic relationship/milieu to support the treatment plan Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
