We are currently seeking an energetic, compassionate, and resident-focused Registered Nurse to join our dynamic care team here at Billings Court Manor. The successful candidate will be committed to providing the highest standard of care for residents and to creating a positive and supportive workplace.

REQUIREMENTS OF REGISTERED NURSE (RN):
· Registered Nurse registration with the CNO in good standing required,
· Registered Nurse Diploma or B.S.C.N Degree required,
· Current CPR & First Aid Certificate required,
· Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) training is an asset
· PIECES training is an asset
· Phlebotomy course is an asset
· Proven leadership skills and supervisory experience
· Knowledge of restorative and rehabilitative documentation,
· MDS-RAI Expertise,
· Excellent assessment and time management skills
· Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
· Assists with the supervision of related nursing functions such as but not limited to infection control, restorative care, social work, health records, nursing library, staff development, skin care, oral and dental care, and ADLS.
· Observes residents to ensure that work assignments are carried out in a safe and dignified manner
· Refers any problems requiring medical treatment to the resident’s Physician promptly for treatment.
· Responsible for overseeing RPN’s who give medication and performing treatments ordered by the Physician or doing them as indicated.
· Ensures that the documentation of Resident care is accurate and concise.
· Responsible for utilizing the Nursing process in assessing resident needs and developing care plans and to keep care plans updated and current at all times.
· Conduct admission assessments and ensures that admission conferences are held within 6 weeks of admission.
· Ensures that the progress notes and plan of care review are completed at least quarterly or as changing resident need indicates.
· Ensures follow through with Physician’s orders an nursing interventions. Responsible for assessing the need for restraints, informed consent, Physician’s orders and use of alternatives as well as documentation according to policy.
· Liaises with Director of Care (DOC) on a daily basis to review the health status of residents, the physician’s visits, and resident/family concerns, etc.
· Assist in performance reviews of RPN’s and HCA’s/PSW’s
· Responsible for making rounds with physicians and implementing orders.
· During time periods when the Administrator and/or DOC are not in the Home is responsible for the welfare and safety of residents and staff.
· Ensures that responsibilities and tasks are delegated appropriately based on the skills and qualifications of the staff providing care.
· Coordinates the integration of nursing staff and services with other facility services and departments to provide quality service to residents.
· In case of fire, supervises and directs an evacuation of a unit.
· Ensures that hazardous situations that are identified are corrected immediately if possible; report hazardous situations as per policy.
· Ensures that workplace incident/accident forms are completed promptly and reported to the DOC/Administrator. Ensures that first aid is given when required.
