JOB SUMMARY: The PT RN CM/DN is responsible for an assigned case load of individuals participating in the Community Options Day Program, overseeing, delegating and monitoring health services such as medication administration, treatments and nursing tasks provided by the direct support staff at the Community Options Program. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Directly supervises and monitors the department’s Certified Medication Technician (CMT) who may be delegated medication and/or nursing tasks to program participants on a case-by-case basis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides oversight of medication, treatments, and health care services provided to program participants as ordered by the health care provider in accordance with Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON). Manage nursing assessments and other health records in electronic medical records (CIMS). Assess and triage urgent or acute conditions during the operational hours of the program. Trains, delegates, and supervise CMT’s and other unlicensed staff in the care of individuals when indicated. Completes initial and ongoing nursing assessments, and nursing care plans assessed level of need and in compliance with delegation rules set forth by MBON and DDA. Ensures proper documentation and safe storage of medical documents, programmatic information, and correspondence requests, in conformance with (HIPAA) federal, state, and local regulations and CCADW policies. Facilitates in-service and individual specific trainings as applicable. Collaborates with medical team for continuity of services provided. Participates in individual’s annual IP meeting in collaboration with DON as requested. Complete, review and update online Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) as needed and minimally annually. Attend minimally two mandatory DDA Statewide Nurse’s Quarterly meetings. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree (preferred). CPR and First Aid certified. Active RN license in the state of Maryland. Two years of experience as a RN CM/DN in Maryland preferably supporting individuals with disabilities. SKILLS and COMPETENCIES: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write comprehensive reports and correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with unexpected situations where non-standardized responses are necessary. Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM; or Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
