Description University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position for Transplant & Cellular Therapy, located within the UT Medical Center Cancer Institute. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work under deadlines in a rapidly growing, fast-paced oncology office. Job Type: Full-Time (Monday-Friday 7:30AM- 5PM) Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs telephone triage for providers, using critical thinking skills to make decisions, communicating all pertinent information and interventions to the provider. Works alongside mid-level and physician, as a team, addressing all patient/family needs and providing education. Ensures clinic has available resources and supplies. Documents all elements of care in the patient’s electronic medical record. Assists the providers with referrals, orders, and other coordination of care. Performs medication reconciliation, refill management, patient compliance, and education for all oncology related medications. Communication with pharmacies and insurance companies for patient medications, including prior authorizations. Maintaining provider clinic schedules. Coordinate patient care with other departments in Cancer Institute including: chemotherapy infusion, nurse navigators, radiation oncology, palliative care, surgical oncology, and clinical trials. Handling of medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards. Perform other miscellaneous tasks including: reviewing lab work with patient, performing genetic testing, completing patient work forms, setting up home oxygen, and coordinating home health/hospice, hospital admissions and outpatient transfusions. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Participates in departmental meetings with goals of quality improvement.
