JOB SUMMARY;

  • Under the direction of the RN/Executive Director Clinical Practice, the Clinical Education Coordinator’s role is to ensure family & patient-centered care and optimal patient outcomes through direct practice, clinical and professional leadership, expert coaching and guidance, consultation, collaboration, education, quality improvement initiatives, research skills and ethical decision-making.
  • This position conducts staff education needs assessments, employs evidence-based educational methodologies, acts as a change agent to promote evidence-based practice, provides expert consultation to direct care staff, conducts orientation programs for new staff, evaluates initial and ongoing competency validation processes, and actively participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Responsibilities also include conducting multidisciplinary rounds on assigned units.
  • The clinical education coordinator’s intervention will result in improvements in clinical outcomes, patient/family satisfaction, staff knowledge and skills, healthcare team collaboration and organizational efficiency.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN); Preferred Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A MSN and five (3) years Neonatal intensive care experience or a BSN and five (5) years job related experience as a clinical educator. Preferred: Demonstrated educational and leadership experience with progress increase in responsibility. Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care. Additional skills: Excellent computer, clinical, and communication skills as well as experience developing, teaching and coordinating educational programs for adult learners
