Position Details Full Time - Day Shift (6 am-6:30 pm) 12-hour shifts 3 days a week, Rotating Weekends Qualifications Current RN license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain before hire date. CPR/BLS/ACLS certification. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems We are currently seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) to join our healthcare team in Gaston County. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care, manage a wide range of medical conditions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure prompt, professional, and respectful care for all patients. The ideal candidates will be committed to delivering comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals in detention while upholding their dignity and rights, ensuring that every patient receives respectful and high-quality care. Key Responsibilities: Conduct health assessments and screenings for patients upon admission and as needed, ensuring thorough and compassionate care. Provide emergency and routine medical care, adhering to established protocols and procedures while maintaining a patient-centered approach. Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and other healthcare providers to create and implement individualized care plans. Accurately document all medical interventions and patient interactions in electronic health records, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and self-care, fostering empowerment through knowledge. Respond to health emergencies within the facility, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency medical services and officers when necessary. Communicate effectively with custody officers and detention center personnel to ensure the proper care and treatment of patients. Participate in ongoing professional development and training, staying informed of best practices in correctional healthcare. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (often for extended periods) Ability to assist with patient movement or emergency care (up to 50 lbs) Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, gowns, etc. Our Ideal Candidates: Demonstrate strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a diverse range of medical conditions.
