Description

EDUCATION

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum of 1-2 year medical/surgical experience (preferred)
  • Not eligible for those who have received Post-Basic Education Funding from PHC for the past 2 years.
  • Applicant must successfully complete the Post-Basic Education prior to working in the Department. PHC will fund Post-Basic Education. Funding will consist of 100% for tuition and books; and wages at rate of 100% of posted FTE.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures
  • Teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with others
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to teach and identify patient/resident learning needs
  • Ability to lead patient/family group sessions
  • Ability to provide clinical direction
