Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) provides competent, compassionate care to patients experiencing acute trauma or medical emergencies. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to meet the Magnet standards of practice at Sentara RMH.   Key Responsibilities * Triage & Assessment: Rapidly evaluate patient conditions, record vital signs, and determine care priority. * Care Implementation: Design personalized care plans, administer medications, and perform life-saving interventions. * Patient & Family Education: Explain health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to empower patients. * Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate care plans closely with ED physicians, specialists, and support staff. * Documentation: Ensure all care is meticulously documented in accordance with regulatory * Crisis Response: Maintain high standards of patient safety and respond promptly to rapid-deteriorating situations.   Qualifications & Requirements * Education: Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN). * Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license valid to work in the State of Virginia. * Experience: Previous acute care experience required. At least 1 year of dedicated Emergency Room experience is strongly preferred. * Certifications: BLS required upon hire; ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of hire.
