Registered Nurse (RN) - Hickory Behavioral at Kingman   Department: Nursing  Direct Report to: Director of Nursing   Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt  Shifts Available: Days/Nights   About the Role: Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for   * Completing admissions assessments * Care plan management * Patient education * Medication administration, education, and documentation   The Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the treatment team that uses the nursing process with individual patients and groups to help them meet their medical, safety, and general health needs. It’s Hickory’s primary goal to offer expert treatment for all we serve.     What We Offer:   * 401k * Dental insurance  * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * PTO * Vision insurance * Career development * Mental health days * Holiday pay       Job Qualifications:   * RN must have completed a nursing degree from an accredited school of Nursing and have valid RN * At least 2 years prior experience as an RN preferably with hospital and behavioral health experience * Computer proficiency, including EMR * Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. * Understanding of Substance Use Disorders and Dual Diagnosis * Must maintain a positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients and staff. * Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, and exercise time management skills. * Completion of CPR and HWC prior to working the floor * Schedule flexibility may be required to accommodate patients * Must hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.    Key Responsibilities:   * Utilizes "Read Back" when taking verbal orders * Conducts narcotics count and maintains emergency drug kit * Assessing, Responding and Documenting Suicide Risks * Documents client education * Evaluates clients on an on-going basis to ensure medical needs are met * Follows admission procedures * Follows discharge procedures * Takes vital signs to detect deviations from normal ranges * Performs CIWA and COWS appropriately * Understands administration of high-risk medications * Performs Nursing Assessment on admission * Performs point of care urinalysis and pregnancy screens * Administers two-step Tuberculin PPD test * Performs glucose monitoring * Receives medications from pharmacy and stores appropriately * Documents medication administration * Uses two identifiers when administering medications * Follows workplace injury procedures * Performs intake assessments * Participates in performance improvement activities * Maintains a current nursing license * Reports safety hazards to supervisor and or Executive Director * Reports medication errors or "near misses" to Director of Nursing * Performs appropriate hand hygiene throughout the shift * Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately * Performs pain assessment and knowledgeable about pain management * Performs COVID-19 testing Compensation: $34-$40/hr 
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is responsible for completing admissions assessments, managing care plans, providing patient education, and administering and documenting medications under the Director of Nursing. The RN acts as a member of the treatment team, utilizing the nursing process to meet patient medical and safety needs, and assists in overseeing LPNs and BHTs.
