    Riverstreet Manor is currently looking for a full time* Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Control Preventionist* to assist with leading our nursing team! Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN) with leadership experience in long-term care? Then this might be the perfect opportunity for YOU!

Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Control Preventionist:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, an Associates Degree, or BS preferred and completed nursing school
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in this state.
  • Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/transmission-based precautions
  • APIC Certification in infection prevention and control preferred, but not necessary.
  • On Call Rotation Required
  • Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Control Preventionist:

  • Report all reportable diseases to the county and state health departments
  • Assist with in-services on wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence for the nursing staff.
  • Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the residents’ needs in relation to prevention and control of infections.
  • Assist in training department personnel in identifying tasks that involve potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
