Description Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Onarga, IL location! Nexus-Onarga Family Healing is located approximately 30 miles south of Kankakee and 45 miles north of Champaign-Urbana, just a few miles off of I-57 on a historic site in Onarga, IL. Nexus Onarga provides boys ages 10 to 20 years old a structured, homelike environment where they can safely address a variety of unhealthy behaviors and mental health issues as well as childhood trauma. Nexus Onarga youth attend our onsite private, therapeutic Grand Prairie School which offers special education with small classes for grades 5th-12th. Work Schedule and Salary: Hourly rate $35-40 Full time, 40 hours per week (4) 10-hour shifts Tuesday-Friday. This position takes call every other week. Position Summary: The Nurse (RN) promotes the health and well-being to Nexus Family Healing residents by providing client-centered health care services, in accordance with Nexus Family Healing policies, procedures, and protocols. Key Responsibilities Resident Medical Care Support client admissions by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Monitor and address medical concerns; coordinate follow-up appointments and referrals. Maintain accurate medical records and assess when physician communication is needed. Manage acute and chronic medical conditions and provide treatment or consultation. Respond to emergencies by assessing client status, providing appropriate care, and coordinating higher-level medical support when necessary. Treatment Team Collaboration Serve as a medical resource for staff and interdisciplinary teams. Partner with treatment staff to develop individualized client care plans. Medication Management Administer, verify, and track client medications. Educate clients on medication use, side effects, and interactions. Monitor for adverse reactions and ensure prescriptions are filled and maintained. Oversee medication log accuracy. Meetings & Training Complete all required role-specific and facility-wide trainings and certifications (CPR, first aid, medication administration, infection control, etc.). Participate in internal and community training opportunities. Client Confidentiality Uphold all confidentiality, informed consent, and privacy standards in accordance with organizational policies. Required Education and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Valid Registered Nurse License. 1 + year related nursing experience First Aid/CPR/Infection Control certification Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements Preferred Education and Experience: 1+ year related nursing experience in a residential setting. Requirements Required Education and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Valid Registered Nurse License. 1 + year related nursing experience First Aid/CPR/Infection Control certification Valid driver’s license required.
