How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: * Provides intraoperative and postoperative nursing care. * Safely and adequately provides and utilizes equipment and supplies based on unique patient need. * Uses electronic nursing documentation for charging patient supplies per department policy and procedure. * Evaluates patient outcomes. * Documents patient care given. * Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. * Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. * Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. * Assesses the physiological and psychosocial needs of the patient and works as an advocate for the physical and emotional wellbeing of the patient. What we’re looking for Graduate of a professional school of Nursing. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State. Additional requirements include: * Basic Life Support certification is required. * Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
