Make a Difference Community Hospital South has an excellent opportunity available within our Post Anesthesia unit, located in Greenwood, IN. The PACU RN will be responsible for performing direct patient care postoperatively as part of a surgical care team. Assessing, documenting and managing postoperative pain. Assessing airway adequacy and intervening quickly and appropriately when necessary. Cardiac monitoring and interpretation. Must demonstrate understanding and knowledge of all phases of recovery nursing principles and expectations. Exceptional Skills and Qualifications Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Will possess strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills, will demonstrate ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task Will be able to take direction well but also be self-directed and motivated. Will possess a high degree of responsibility, responsiveness Prefer prior PACU, ED / ER, NICU, ICU or similar experience with high acuity patients
Responsibilities
The PACU RN is responsible for providing direct patient care following surgery as part of the surgical care team, which includes assessing, documenting, and managing postoperative pain. This role also requires assessing airway adequacy, intervening quickly when necessary, and performing cardiac monitoring and interpretation.
