More about our team The Post-Partum unit at Wilson Medical Center provides comprehensive care to mothers and newborns following delivery. Our team supports recovery, education, and family-centered care while collaborating closely with Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and interdisciplinary partners. Nurses in this department play a key role in postpartum assessments, newborn care, patient education, and ensuring a safe transition home for more than 800 families annually. How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: * Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that prioritizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical errors * Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs * Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions * Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient * Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, provider, patient, and family * Formulates individualized plans of care and revises them based on patient response * Completes and updates the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient * Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, and condition * Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge planning, referrals, and psychosocial support * Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients while protecting patient rights * Demonstrates strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment Why join us We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Responsibilities
