Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Op/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a dynamic environment, is committed to delivering excellent patient care, and values teamwork. You will play a vital role in supporting patients through all stages of the perioperative process, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions with the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and elimination.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient transfers, discharges, referrals, and support services.
  • Educate patients and families about care needs, tailored to age, culture, and condition.
  • Serve as a strong advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Support surgical patients by conducting pre-admission testing, preparing them for procedures, and providing care in Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Recovery.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in Kentucky or compact state eligibility
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
  • Willingness to work independently with minimal supervision
