Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The stroke navigator contributes to the local performance of the stroke center requirements. Serves as a liaison between the program requirements and hospital departments, as well as educating Mission Partners regarding the standard of care and documentation requirements of the stroke patient. The stroke navigator also serves as a resource and support to regional hospitals as needed. Fosters and maintains positive relations among physicians, medical center personnel and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes are achieved. The stroke navigator works collaboratively with the accreditation coordinator to ensure successful implementation of programmatic standards of performance. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing Experience: Two years' work experience in neurosciences. Licensure/ Certification: IL Reg Nurse License Advanced Cardiac Life Support by American Heart Association American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN) Stroke Certified RN (SCRN) or Association of Neurovascular Clinicians (ANVC), Advanced Stroke Coordinator (ASC-BC), Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) certification within 12 months of hire. Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
