  Registered Nurse (RN) | Behavioral Health | Psychiatric Unit | Weekend Day Shift Location: Philadelphia, PA Department: Behavioral Medicine – 2ADC Psychiatric Unit Job Type: Part Time | non-exempt: 12 hours per week | 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM | Every Sunday Work Setting: Fully Onsite Overview The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is a leading provider of comprehensive behavioral health services in the Philadelphia region. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Medicine team on the 2ADC Psychiatric Unit. This unit provides inpatient care to adult patients experiencing psychiatric conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses in a structured and supportive clinical environment. This role is ideal for nurses who are interested in behavioral health, inpatient psychiatric care, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on patient stabilization, safety, and recovery. Important: All new hires must be able to attend a mandatory 5-day orientation Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM before starting their schedule. Attendance is required for employment. Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in accordance with established nursing standards and protocols • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed • Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and behavioral health staff to support patient recovery • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the Electronic Health Record • Support patient safety, crisis intervention, and de-escalation as needed • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning Qualifications • Current Pennsylvania RN license required • BLS certification required • At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred; behavioral health or psychiatric experience a plus • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health environment Work Environment This position is based on the 2ADC inpatient psychiatric unit within a secure behavioral health setting. Nurses work directly with adult patients who may be experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms, substance use challenges, or co-occurring conditions. The role requires the ability to remain professional, responsive, and calm in high acuity situations while supporting a safe and therapeutic environment.
