It might be the best decision you make this year. Job Description Under general supervision, plans and directs nursing care for the residents in accordance with established philosophies. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments; participates in all phases of education and the maintenance of records. The unique job functions outlined are designed with a focus on safety and quality. Responsibilities: Demonstrates an understanding of growth and development issues with regard to the populations under their care. Demonstrates an understanding as well as an ability to work within the specific milieu of the population under their care. Assists in the management of aggressive residents as needed, using only de-escalation and behavior management techniques approved by New Hope Treatment Centers. Provides documentation in the clinical record of resident behavior and interventions. Administration of prescribed medications and treatments within the scope of practice. Transcribing of physicians’ orders on appropriate forms. Adheres to standing orders for admission procedures and the administration of over the counter medications as needed. Reports the medical needs of residents to the physician and coordinates medical care required. Responsible for nurse case management duties. Oversees through completion, nursing assessment and lab work within required time frames of admission. Participates and acts as contributing member of multidisciplinary treatment team. Assumes responsibility for orientation of new nurses. Knowledge of current pharmacy manual, pharmacy protocols and procedures. Additional Responsibilities: Participates in critical reviews, TSP’s and or any other meetings related to the residents. Completes other related tasks as assigned by Supervisor. May be required to change work schedule including days assigned, number of hours assigned with possible weekend and holiday work assignments. May be required to be part of “Nursing On-call” schedule. Qualifications Education/Experience: Must possess a current license in good standing as a RN in a state with compact privileges. Basic computer skills are a must.
