Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a hospital in Metairie, LA. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team. Why Join Us? Key Responsibilities: Conducting final health checks (vital signs, allergies, fasting status), verifying consent forms, and preparing the patient psychologically and physically for surgery. Closely monitoring vital signs, airway patency, and consciousness levels as patients emerge from anesthesia, while managing pain and post-operative nausea. Assisting patients to sit, stand, and walk to ensure they are safe and steady, meeting mobility criteria required for discharge. Providing comprehensive verbal and written aftercare instructions regarding wound management, medications, and "red flag" symptoms to ensure a safe recovery at home. Inserting and removing IV cannulas, and administering prescribed medications (including IV fluids, antibiotics, and analgesia). Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of LA and current BLS Certification. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of RN work experience. Responsibilities
