Responsibilities

As a full-time Registered Nurse within the Medical Advice and Triage Referral Service (MATRS), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical advice and support to eligible personnel. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting clinical assessments, performing triage, and providing medical advice through the 24-hour telephone services: 1800 IMSICK and the All Hours Support Line (ASL).
You will be supported by modern clinical decision support tools and standardised scripting, as endorsed by the Commonwealth. All clinical activities must be carried out in accordance with relevant professional standards, legislation, and Defence policies and procedures.
This is a shift-based position requiring availability Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work morning, afternoon, or night shifts as operationally required.

As the ideal applicant you will have:

  • A current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • At least 2 years full-time, post graduate experience within the last 5 years in an acute care, primary health, or military setting.
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
