An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse with experience or demonstrated interest in sexual health and HIV to join a dedicated multidisciplinary Sexual Health Team.

Responsibilities

Provision of sexual health screening and management as per Local and State policies, procedures and guidelines including:

  • History taking, physical examination, venepuncture, safe administration of medications
  • Clinical management, education and counselling of clients
  • Cover telephone triage and provide information
  • Triage clients into Clinic 16 services or refer as appropriate
  • Review pathology results and patient follow up as per clinical policies and procedures
  • Assist in contact tracing

Will be required to work evening shifts or at outreach services.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with experience or demonstrated interest in Sexual Health and HIV nursing and an understanding of Clinic 16 priority populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the nursing care of the sexual health service patients by applying evidence- based practice and critical thinking. Show evidence of accountability and responsibility for own actions.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
