We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to become an integral part of our care team. REQUIREMENTS

  • Up-to-date Vulnerable Police Background Check (working with Seniors)
  • Valid CPR & First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience in an Assisted Living Retirement home is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with Elders and their families.
  • A caring attitude and commitment to providing high-quality services.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain an update on each Elder from the PSW’s throughout your shift.
  • Visit each Elder throughout your shift to monitor clinical status, and to determine if the clinical care needs of the Elders are being met.
  • Clinical assessments should be Elder-specific and consider the primary diagnosis and risks specific to the individual Elder.
  • Assess each Elder for unresolved/untreated pain.
  • Plan and implement pain management interventions when appropriate.
  • Assess, plan, and implement interventions related to skin integrity, bowel, and bladder status, including continence and bowel movement monitoring, mentation, ambulation status, nutrition (weights) and hydration, and the effects of medications.
  • Identify any clinical teaching needs of the PSW’s, Elder or Family.
  • Provide teaching and complete documentation.
  • Identify ways to support the PSW’s in their clinical competency and skills.
  • Monitor standard Infection Prevention and Control, implement requirements as needed.
  • Administer medications as required.
  • Monitor overall adequacy of the care plan and update when necessary.
  • Review care plans every 6 months and participate in Elder, Family care plan meetings.
  • Assist the PSW’s with any household chores as required i.e. cooking, cleaning, laundry.
