Description Job Title Registered Nurse Reports to Manager of Nursing Services Status Full Time/Non-Exempt Position Summary Provides comprehensive nursing support in outpatient radiology settings by delivering patient-centered care, assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures, coordinating communication among care teams, and ensuring patient safety, comfort, and education. Works independently and collaboratively across multiple modalities and locations to support high-quality clinical outcomes and a positive patient experience. Detailed Responsibilities Requires the ability to work independently often, as well as be a contributing member of the healthcare team. Requires assisting in general diagnostic, special procedures, ultrasound, CT, PET, MR, Nuclear Medicine and mammography procedures. Contacts patients to obtain necessary pertinent information/medical history for upcoming appointments. Facilitates communication between patient, radiologists and other healthcare providers for assigned patients. Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and diminish patient apprehension. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient. Observes patient, obtains/monitors vital signs, records significant findings and notifies appropriate chain of command of patient's condition, deviations from normal, reaction to drugs, response to treatments and significant incidents. Responds to urgent/emergent/life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols. Documents all patient information in appropriate areas of medical record. Helps positively promote/market the services provided by the company to patients and healthcare providers. Requires flexibility to work at multiple locations. Other duties may be assigned.
