Salary Range: $39.07 - $56.00 /hour

This program provides $25,000 in grant funding to eligible RPNs/RNs/ Nurse Practitioners in exchange for a two-year full-time commitment. An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse who will play an integral role as a member of the interdisciplinary team caring for Geriatric patients within the ambulatory services of Specialized Geriatric Services

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in completing Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments
  • Knowledge of Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and clinical reasoning skills in complex clinical settings
  • Ability to function autonomously and to adapt to constantly changing, unpredictable situations and varying workload
  • Knowledge of and ability to mobilize community health resources and systems
  • Demonstrated application of case management skills in complex clinical situations
  • Superior interpersonal communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
  • Ability to create a learning environment
  • Demonstrated evidence-based practice
  • Ability to apply effective body mechanics and meet the physical demands of the position
  • Ability to travel within the catchment area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Experience in community and/or Ambulatory settings
  • CNA Certification and/or enhanced learning in Gerontology

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
