Fixed term contract 0.5 FTE from Feb 2026 - Feb 2027 About the Role The Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM) Unit - Kew is a progressive and dynamic 24-bed unit specialising in the care of the older person. With an emphasis on person-centred care, our interdisciplinary team partner with consumers to optimise outcomes and preserve human dignity. The successful candidate is a member of the clinical multidisciplinary team and fulfils their role under the guidance and support of the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate. • Practice within a “patient centred care” framework • Maintain skills and knowledge necessary to safely and skillfully undertake clinical work • Actively contribute to supporting a high functioning nursing and multidisciplinary team • Communicate effectively, with patients and staff at all levels • Utilise written and verbal communication skills • Identify risk and proactively work to minimise and manage • Take all necessary care and precautions when undertaking clinical procedures • Complete annual clinical competencies Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum). Your Contribution Have strong communication skills and demonstrate an understanding of patients with complex social dynamics. Assist Graduate Nurses, Grade 2 Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, casual nursing staff, agency nursing staff and student nurses. Accurately document patient care in accordance with health service guidelines. Respond to clinical changes in patient’s condition and initiate consultation with relevant medical/nursing and inter-disciplinary team as required.
