IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a fully qualified Registered Nurse who is an immuniser and is familiar with general practice, who can work full time with the hours between 8:00 am - 9:30 pm (or some variation of this). A nurse who has experience or is comfortable in learning to assist with minor procedures (implanon ins/rem, biopsies of lumps and bumps, child circumcisions, etc), as well as familiar with the NIP and all vaccinations. Competency in collaborating with GPs in creating care plans and completing health assessments.
Having detailed the above, the ideal candidate must have an inherent willingness and desire to learn and grow professionally.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Appropriate tertiary qualification & registration certificate.
• Professional indemnity cover. Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in a community-based role.
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs of general practice and interest in community-based nursing, including patient education and health promotion.
• Knowledge of current immunisation schedules, Diabetes management, asthma management, enhanced primary care items, infection control, CPR, and emergency resuscitation techniques, equipment & drugs.
• A nurse immuniser qualification.
• DESIRABLE - Additional qualifications such as Accredited Women’s Health Certificate, Cervical Screening/Pap Smears, Diabetes Education Certificate, Asthma/Spirometry qualification/education. Training or experience in Medicare item numbers & health funds. Competence in the use of relevant equipment & software
