At our Geelong Withdrawal Unit in Corio, we provide a safe, supportive space for individuals undergoing medically supervised withdrawal. Every shift is an opportunity to ease pain, restore hope, and remind someone of their worth. About the Role We’re looking for a Registered Nurse with not only clinical expertise but also the heart and strength to walk with people through some of their toughest moments. You’ll work alongside a team of nurses, GP's, and AOD professionals who believe that everyone deserves the chance to recover — and the right to be treated with respect while doing so. Reporting to the Nurse Team Leader, this is a permanent part-time position, 26.6 hours per week, based at Barwon AOD Services, Corio, VIC. You Will Successfully Deliver compassionate, client-centred nursing care — including assessments, medication management, and immediate medical response Empower clients with information about their treatment plan and engage them actively in their own recovery Communicate clearly during handovers and collaborate with internal and external health professionals Uphold dignity by maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming space, while always respecting confidentiality and boundaries Accurately document clinical care and contribute to a culture of safety, respect and continuous improvement What You’ll Bring Current AHPRA registration (Div 1) and a relevant Nursing qualification Certificate IV in AOD (or willingness to obtain within 12 months) Experience in AOD services and confidence in managing challenging behaviours or dual diagnoses A calm, clear, and empathetic communication style, especially in crisis situations A strong sense of ethics, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine desire to uplift people from all walks of life Proficiency with clinical documentation and digital systems A current Employee Working with Children Check A current and valid Driver’s Licence Why You’ll Love Working With Us When you join Salvos, you’re not just filling a position — you’re fulfilling a purpose.
