Job Summary Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Dialysis Location: Adult Dialysis – Texas Medical Center Department: Hospital-Based Dialysis Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Adult Dialysis team at TMC. This role is based in a hospital setting and focuses on delivering safe, high-quality dialysis care to adult patients. The ideal candidate is confident in patient assessment, emergency response, and dialysis operations, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. ________________________________________ Minimum Qualifications • Active RN license (state-specific requirements apply) • Minimum of 2 years of dialysis experience in a hospital setting o Clinic dialysis experience will be considered • Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills • Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations ________________________________________ Schedule • 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts) • 6:45 AM – 6:45 PM • Rotating weekends • On-call Sundays: once every 6 weeks ________________________________________ Patient Ratio • 1:1 or 1:2 ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after dialysis treatments • Monitor patients closely and respond appropriately to changes in condition or emergencies • Operate dialysis equipment and monitoring systems safely and effectively • Open and close the dialysis clinic as required • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements ________________________________________ Certifications • Dialysis Nurse certification required within one year of hire Collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process. Provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. MHHS hires RNs based on years of experience groupings (i.e. newly licensed RN [working under the supervision of RN clinical preceptor], less than 1 year, 1-3 years, 3 to 10 and 10+). Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing Certified in Basic Life Support Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements Experience / Knowledge / Skills: RN I
