Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Cancer Care Rotation Program is aimed at nurses who have completed a minimum one year post graduate nursing experience and who have a genuine interest in cancer care. The program has been designed to assist registered nurses with their professional development during the transition phase from generalist nurse to specialist cancer nurse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform comprehensive and accurate nursing assessment of patients.
  • Identify and implement discharge-planning requirements.
  • Plan appropriate care in consultation with patient and multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities and provide a high level of customer service to patients, staff and others.
  • Function within a multidisciplinary team and provide assistance when and where required to meet the needs of the Department / Ward.
