Description University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position for University Surgical Oncology, located within the UT Medical Center Cancer Institute. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work under deadlines in a very fast-paced office. Applicants must be familiar with scheduling surgeries, giving instructions, writing orders, and making the patients their top priority. This position will work closely with physicians to provide a seamless patient experience. Candidates must adhere to the following: Provide complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures in clinic setting. Gathers and assesses objective and subjective data from the patient. Documents data and assessments in the patient electronic record Assists the providers in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care. Medication reconciliation, management, patient compliance, inventory, education. Demonstrate critical thinking, sound judgments based on the presenting data, and a timely response based on the expected patient outcome and standards of care as well as unit/organizational policies. Surgery knowledge including scheduling, communicating surgery instructions and treatment plans to patient. The position will include rotation of triage nurse call for urgent medical issues Maintain current CPR for Health Care Providers. Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance Requirements RN License Prior medical experience preferred
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will provide complete patient assessments, gather and document objective and subjective data, and assist providers with consultations, treatments, procedures, and follow-up care. This role also involves medication management, patient education, and rotating triage nurse calls for urgent medical issues.
