Regular Part Time
Salary Range: $39.07 - $56.00 /hour
The primary role of the RN is to provide high quality, safe, effective and evidence-based care in partnership with patients and families, in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards as wells St. Joseph’s mission, vision, values and policies. The RN in Urgent Care participates as a lead member on the Medical Emergency Response Team responding to the medical emergencies encountered at St. Joseph’s Hospital Site.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid ACLS (in person)
  • Valid PALS and/or ENPC (in person)
  • Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) Certification/Triage Trained
  • Previous three (3) years Emergency nursing experience within the past five years
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Demonstrated competency for patient assessment, planning and evaluating care interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to function productively in a demanding work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in processing referrals and accessing community resources
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated competency in I.V., Phlebotomy, EKG Interpretation, BDC drug administration and competency in medically delegated acts, eg. defibrillation and transcutaneous pacing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • BScN
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention course

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
