Westmead Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of the busiest and most specialised units in NSW, providing expert care for critically ill, premature, and medically complex neonates. Located alongside The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and within the state’s largest birthing hospital, our NICU is at the forefront of neonatal medicine, evidence-based care and research.

We are currently seeking experienced Neonatal Registered Nurses (or other Critical Care Registered Nurses) with a passion for neonatal care to join our dynamic, high-acuity team.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal health outcomes.

  • Provide specialised nursing care in accordance with individual care plans
  • Monitor and respond to changes in patients’ health status with clinical expertise
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold legal and ethical care standards
  • Educate, mentor and support junior nursing staff and students
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
