OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of medical terminology and medication administration, with experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting being highly desirable.

SKILLS

  • Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Kroll software, with knowledge of handling narcotics and controlled substances securely.
  • Continuing Education: Commitment to ongoing professional development as mandated by OCP regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
  • Professionalism: Ability to handle patient interactions with care, maintain privacy, and manage potentially sensitive situations.
  • Vaccine Administration (has the appropriate training and competencies to administer the injection)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in medication administration practices to ensure patient safety.
  • Experience working in a hospital or pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate medication dispensing.
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding medications and health-related questions.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
  • Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and storing medications appropriately.
  • Participate in medication administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
  • Support the pharmacy team in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
