Key Qualifications, Skills and Abilities: Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing Current certification or eligibility for certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse is required Current BCLS required Recent experience with inpatient medical population required Recent experience with inpatient rehab population and/or complex care needs population required Recent knowledge of the philosophy and concepts of geriatric nursing practice Demonstrates ability to provide patients and families with educational resources Demonstrates patient and family-centered care Demonstrates knowledge and ability to establish a therapeutic relationship Evidence of on-going professional development Must be reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed to work effectively and collaboratively in a high performance inter-professional team Satisfactory attendance and performance required Candidates are selected on the basis of their skill, ability, experience and qualifications.
