Our B Ward is a 12 bed unit, including 7 complex continuing care beds, 1 palliative care bed and 4 acute senior friendly beds. Care is provided through a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, physicians, dietitian, therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. The philosophy of care is applied in a senior friendly care environment. As an integral member of the health care team, the Registered Practical Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice of a RPN to patients with chronic and progressive illness and disabilities. Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses as a Registered Practical Nurse Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Recent experience working with patient with chronic and progressive illness RPN Added Nursing Skills course Certificate in Medication Administration Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, families and other members of the health care team in a professional, caring manner Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated excellent in communication skills, interpersonal skill and problem solving Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
