We are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to work with our Dialysis Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum two years of hemodialysis experience within the last five years required
  • Minimum five years medicine nursing experience required
  • Nephrology certificate required or enrolled and will successfully complete Nephrology certificate within 3 years of hire
  • Completion of vascular access modules from the Ontario Renal Network required
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior or equivalent preferred
  • Certificate in Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) preferred
  • Current ACLS certification, or completion within 3 months of hire (completion preferred)
  • Competence in starting and maintaining IV’s
  • Excellent physical assessment sills required
  • Medication Administration certificate and patient assessment course required for RPNs graduating prior 2005
  • Exemplary clinical practice within an inter-professional team and ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team

  • Hiring Salary Range: $37.369 - $38.161
Responsibilities

The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Practical Nurse within Dialysis Department.
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is accountable and responsible for the provision of general Hemodialysis nursing duties to patients who are identified as less complex, demonstrate more predictable outcomes and are at lower risk for negative outcomes in hemodialysis and completes work assignments on a daily basis, according to the Practice Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
