Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse
Status: Regular Part Time
Department: Ambulatory Hemo In Centre - Oshawa
Program: Nephrology
Days, Evenings, Weekends; 8 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)
Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa
Wage Schedule: $36.140 - $38.160 per hour

This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 19 August 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 26 August 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college;
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
  • Current B.C.L.S;
  • Updated nursing skills including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment Courses;
  • Current Certificate in Medication Administration;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with providing care for renal patients in Acute Care settings (emergency department, acute inpatient units, critical care) is required;
  • Evidence of continuing education related to the requirements of the position;
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standard as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and teaching skills;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work;
  • Proven communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families, physicians and colleagues;
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the position in order to lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;
  • Must have satisfactory performance record;

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health’s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area
Responsibilities

To use nursing process in providing patient care. To participate as a member of the Health Care Team and the Nursing Team.
