We are currently looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to work casually at Caressant Care Cobden. This is a 64-bed long-term care home located in Cobden, Ontario.
Pay: $50-55
Starting: ASAP
Hours: 12-hour shifts (days 06:30-18:30, and/or nights 18:30-06:30)
Work Location: In-person

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from a recognized Registered Practical Nurse program.
• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Must have a valid driver’s license + operating vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• TB two step test result or chest X-ray within three months
• Vulnerable sector search within six months
• COVID vaccination proof
• N95 mask fit test results
• First aid/CPR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Delivers high quality nursing care in a long-term care setting in accordance with the College of Nurses Standards
• Assesses each patient’s state of physical or mental health, provides recommendations pursuant to the assessment, and accurately documents comprehensive and subjective case details to reflect their observations, assessments, management plan and interventions
• Provides autonomous care for clients with stable and/or less complex conditions
• Consults and partners with Registered Nurses (RN) as needed for complex cases where outcomes are not predictable, escalates or transfers cases to the RN or Physician if appropriate
• Monitors vital signs, performs medication administration, basic wound care and treatments to residents and assists in personal care as needed
• Communicates effectively with residents and families to ensure continuity of care
• Follows infection control protocols and safety guidelines
