TH offers a wide range of acute and post-acute care including emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical, rehabilitation and complex/transitional care and palliative care services. Through regional partnerships and visiting specialists, TH is able to offer a broad range of outpatient services including dialysis and chemotherapy. In addition to the above, the Hospital offers laboratory, diagnostic imaging and mental health and addictions programs.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate from an approved Registered Practical Nursing Program
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Recent medical and surgical clinical experience in an acute care or long term care setting
- Current certification in CPR-Basic Life Support
- Excellent interpersonal as well as well as written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as a collaborative member of the health team and with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet the physical demands required to provide nursing care
- Must have an excellent work record including attendance
- Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
Responsibilities:
- Performs nursing assessment on all patients.
- Attends to patient needs.
- Takes vital signs, weights, ECG’s etc. as needed and follows up with Physician and Team Leader if necessary.
- Performs IV Rounds.
- Administers medication to assigned patients.
- Prepares patients for surgery ensuring up-to-date documentation.
- Point of care testing, process doctor’s orders, enters lab work and x-rays in Meditech Expanse.
