Job description
Qualifications:
1. Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an asset.
2. Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors.
3. Good physical and mental health and free from communicable disease.
4. Certified in CPR and First Aid required.
5. Good understanding of the nursing process
6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
7. Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures.
8. Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Duties/roles:
Provides direct nursing care as defined by the Standards of Nursing Practice
(CNO) including –
- administration of medications through oral, subcutaneous, topical, natural
body orifices, intramuscular
- transcribing medical orders as given by physicians in writing or by
telephone
- monitors and provides guidance to personal support staff and unit attendants in the
provision of nursing care
- communicates effectively through the team leader role and in a respectful
manner with residents, family, members of health care team, and staff of Beattie Manor.
- documents all aspects of resident care in a thorough and timely manner
according to prescribed policy and procedure.
- contributes to the evaluation of nursing care by comparing resident status to
expected outcomes and goals and modifies the care plan as
appropriate.
- demonstrates self-awareness in realistic appraisal of personal practice,
identifying strengths, weaknesses and plan for professional development.
- participates in other work related duties as assigned by the registered nursing
staff and nursing management.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 11.5 – 34.5 per week

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Wardsville, ON N0L 2N0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Healthcare: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

• English (required)

Licence/Certification:

• CPR Certification (required)
• Registered Practical Nurse (required)
